Defensive Tactics

Defensive Tactics (State Certified Course).
Restraints/Multiple Hand Cuffing Tactics.
Edge Weapon Defense. Knife Defense.
Weapon Retention. Hand Gun, Long Gun.

To provide the private security professional and detention officer with a Custody Control/Defensive Tactics/Self Defense System that will develop the attitudes, knowledge and skills that are both effective and legally defensible. Through instructor demonstration and student repetition, this program will work to develop skills that enable the officer to accomplish required custody procedures.  The program will introduce officers to the techniques and procedures used to counter empty hand attacks including but not limited to blocks and leverage takedowns. In addition, cadets will learn techniques that have a high potential for control and a low potential for injury. Students will also be able to identify areas of the body when struck that have a high potential for injury (or potential lethality) and low potential for control, primarily when utilizing a baton.  Edge weapon defense. Hand Gun disarming techniques.
