Preservation of Evidence

To provide security professionals with an overview of what is required to process a crime scene, when an officer must process the scene, and the potential warrant requirements associated with doing so.  In addition, we will discuss when an outside law enforcement agency should be called in to process a “major” crime scene.

Report Writing

To provide officers with a foundational understanding of the key components of a well written report including: structure, grammar, detail, and note taking.

The importance of writing a concise, complete, and detailed report will be discussed as well as methods to complete such a report.  Examples of well written and poorly written reports will be examined.

Defensive Tactics

Defensive Tactics (State Certified Course).
Restraints/Multiple Hand Cuffing Tactics.
Edge Weapon Defense. Knife Defense.
Weapon Retention. Hand Gun, Long Gun.

To provide the private security professional and detention officer with a Custody Control/Defensive Tactics/Self Defense System that will develop the attitudes, knowledge and skills that are both effective and legally defensible. Through instructor demonstration and student repetition, this program will work to develop skills that enable the officer to accomplish required custody procedures.  The program will introduce officers to the techniques and procedures used to counter empty hand attacks including but not limited to blocks and leverage takedowns. In addition, cadets will learn techniques that have a high potential for control and a low potential for injury. Students will also be able to identify areas of the body when struck that have a high potential for injury (or potential lethality) and low potential for control, primarily when utilizing a baton.  Edge weapon defense. Hand Gun disarming techniques.

Clients gain the abilities and knowledge to make appropriate on duty custody decisions.

Students will be able to demonstrate the knowledge, skills and attitudes to understand confrontation dynamics and be able to make use of force decisions that meet legal review that are within national use of force norms and accomplish officer safety and safe custody procedures.

A.S.O Instructors can provide instruction and certification for your department or agency, in C.P.R / First Aid. A.S.O Instructors are certified in C.P.R First Aid. To provide basic academy students with foundational training in CPR/First Aid through the utilization of curriculum created by the National Safety Council.

Physical Fitness/ Personal Trainer

To provide the student with a basic understanding of the components and importance of physical fitness. Additionally, the class will learn about the importance of proper nutrition and living a healthy lifestyle.  The practical component of this class lasts throughout the duration of the academy and includes hands-on physical training lead by Cooper Institute Certified instructors.

Internal and External Perimeter Control

Class room and scenario-based training. Providing Officers and security professionals on proper and safe perimeter control of a major level incident. (Riot, active shooter, fight) Providing Security professionals on expectations of First Responders. Proper and systemic procedure on how to sit up an external perimeter, how to sit-up and execute internal perimeter in a safe manner. An understanding the difference between internal and a secondary external perimeter, and expectations of proper surveillance and mental note taking.

This course will provide officers with a foundational understanding of facility and inmate searches in an effort to control introduction of contraband and other illegal items. We will emphasize the need for efficient search techniques to reduce contraband and detect hazards which jeopardize the health and safety of all individuals within the facility.

Provide overview of 4th Amendment involving search and seizure.  Discuss Policy and Procedure (Search and Seizure) including the following topics: Search Procedures; Room Search Procedures, Person Searches, Reasonable Cause/Suspicion, and Probable Cause

A.S.O, Instructors are certified Chemical Instructors through Combined Tactical Systems (C.T.S).

A.S.O Instructors will provide a full class room presentation, Level 1 – Level 3 Chemical exposer and certifications for Detention Officers and Private Security Professionals.

Level I  – Full face saturation, of O.C Pepper Spray
Level II – Cross contamination, environment factors of O.C.
Level III – Area contamination.
